Superb painting by Ernest BLANC-GERIN (1843-1916) representing an interior scene animated by characters preparing a photography session for the child of the family.
Original oil on canvas signed lower right and dated 1884, probably the teblezu exhibited at the 1885 Fine Arts Salon.
In 1863 BLANC-GERIN was raised in Brussels by PORTAELS then in Paris by CABANEL. Participating in the Paris Salon from 1868.
