Charming oil on original panel by the French painter Lazare MEYER (1847-1935).

He studied with Alexandre Cabanel (1823-1889) and Emile Lévy (1826-1935) at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris.

In collaboration with the earthenware maker Jules Paul Loebnitz, he produced, after drawings by Emile Lévy, three large ceramic panels intended to adorn the monumental porch of the pavilion of the French section of fine arts of the Universal Exhibition of 1878. from Paris. They represent Architecture, Pienture and Sculpture.

He is one of the first painters of Montmartre and is considered the precursor of the School of Paris. He was close to the painter and portrait painter Albert Besnard (1849-1934).

Lazare MEYER exhibited at the Paris Salon from 1870 to 1882.

Signed and dated 1887.
